Specialist Bio
Darick Wright, COMS/CLVT, is the Coordinator of the New England Eye Clinic at Perkins School for the Blind, and Adjunct Instructor for the University of Massachusetts - Boston Vision Studies program, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Vision Rehabilitation at the New England College of Optometry. He has been living and working in the Boston area for the last 11 years.
Darick received his Master's Degree in Rehabilitation of the Blind with a specialty in Orientation and Mobility from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He began his training in low vision as a part of his O&M internship at the Southeastern Blind Rehabilitation Program at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Subsequently, he taught O&M at the Arkansas School for the Blind, and then was full-time faculty at the University of Arkansas - Little Rock. In addition, he has consulted/provided workshops for several international programs/agencies such as the Jimmy Carter Presidential Center, Departamento de Educacion Especial, Monterrey, N.L. Mexico, Hilton/Perkins International Program, and Lighthouse International, University of British Columbia, Bermuda Ministry of Education, in the areas of O&M and low vision
