                             At The Carroll Center for the Blind, you can empower and make a world of
                                 difference to children and adults who are blind and visually impaired.
 
WE ARE SEEKING energetic, enthusiastic and committed Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS) to work with students ages 3 – 103 with visual impairments in both school and community settings.  The COMS will conduct O & M assessments, identify travel needs, develop and implement individualized instruction plans, and evaluate and report on student progress. This role requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must have knowledge of the IEP process and the ability to collaboratively serve students in cooperation with others including family, school team members and support agencies. Experience in working with all ages and a wide range of abilities, including individuals with intellectual disabilities, is a plus.

Qualifications

<p><strong>Graduate studies in Orientation &amp; Mobility and ACVREP certification (or eligibility for ACVREP certification) required.&nbsp;</strong></p>
